Amy Holley, the Advanced Bionics CI Consumer Specialist and AB recipient will share the latest information on AB implants. Koelbel Library, 1:00-3:00.
November Meeting
Saturday, Nov. 16, Spencer Kontnik
Spencer is a Disability Rights Lawyer. He is the founding partner and attorney with Kontnik and Cohen, LLC. Spencer’s disability practice focuses primarily on working with Deaf, deaf, and hard of hearing individuals. Spencer was born with a profound hearing loss. Koelbel Library, 1:00-3:00.
Past Meetings

We will not have a meeting in July. Instead we have planned a fun field trip to the Aurora History Museum on Saturday, July 20th.
We will have a guided tour of the Mosaic of Cultures exhibit, "Aurora's Nepali Community". Meet at 11:00am at the museum. Museum entry and tour are free. After the tour, we will go to lunch at Bajeko Sekuwa - a Nepalese and Indian restaurant.

This month our members will share a variety of assisted listening devices, speech-to-text apps, counter hearing loops, remote microphones and more. After the presentations there will be time for hand-on interacting and instruction on using these devices.

The presentation will include ideas and suggestions for supporting individuals, couples, and families who are impacted by hearing loss.

Our next meeting will be Sunday, April 21, 1:00 - 3:00pm at the Koelbel Library in the Forum Theater. Our speaker will be Sara Mathews, a doctor of audiology, specializing in Tinnitus Management.
Dr. Mathews will discuss the different stages of tinnitus habituation and what patients experience as they move through the stages. Exercises, guidance and treatment options will be shared for each stage.
